Shalom, and happy morning to you. At the end of each person’s life there is death, and if one has not strived to live a life of righteousness, being careful with their steps, the promises of Yah, which speak of redemption, immortality, and even eternal inheritance, will not pertain to them. Therefore, they will go from death to death, and the final judgment will consume them.
Yah’s faithful are another story altogether. They are the ones who will endure this life, with all its bitterness, hardships, and trials, and yet hope in the unfailing promises of the eternal King. That hope will be firmly fixed on promises that will sustain them, giving them impetus and strength to continue on the journey toward the Kingdom. Embracing the promises of Yah powers the faithful through tumultuous situations and causes them to be even more fervent in their walk. While the wicked revel in this life and soak up everything it has to offer, the righteous are always unsettled by many of its aspects, and continually look to the fulfillment of Yah’s wonderful promises as their portion.
49 Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope. 50 Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
