Morning Morsels 120: Why Fools Die

To give heed to a fool—to invite their lifeless words into your heart—is like choosing the path of death yourself.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Yah grants wisdom to the wise and he fills their lips with words that lead to life. In this way, they alone speak true knowledge, and to heed what they say, which will only be wisdom from Yah, will put you on the path to life. The words of the righteous, those wise in Yah, are spiritual food that feed the hearer, and their words will penetrate the heart because they are fueled by the Spirit and are in line with the will of Yah.

The fool, on the other hand, those insisting on living their lives as they see fit, well outside of Yah’s plan, lack the life-giving knowledge of the righteous, and even common sense eludes them. This is why they get caught up in foolhardy exploits that lead to death. Without the life-giving wisdom of Yah in their hearts, death is always looming close at hand. And to give heed to a fool—to invite their lifeless words into your heart—is like choosing the path of death yourself.

20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.
