Morning Morsels 007: The Joy of Yah’s Presence

Walking with Yah creates a happy balance.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Having walked with Yah for some years now, I have come to rely upon his guidance; his steady hand that leads me daily along the path of life. I have grown accustom to his gentle nudging, as he moves me in one direction or another to advance my steps toward new experiences that add to my understanding.

It has become increasingly easy to surrender to his wise counsel and yield myself to his leadership, even in the simplest matters. I have struck this happy balance based in large by my reading of Scripture, which recounts the righteous actions and tireless faith of my ancestors. If that balance was good enough for them, it is good enough for me. And this happy balance, I am told, will swell into an eternal experience, where Yah’s delightful presence is forever felt and appreciated. David expresses this wonderful promise in a psalm:

7 I will bless Yah who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I know Yah is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. 10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your pure one to rot in the grave. 11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

—Psalm 16:7 – 11
