Morning Morsels 008: The Day of Yah

What the day of Yah will truly be like.

View Transcript

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Some people hold to the belief that the day of Yah, that is, the day he sends his son to reckon with the world, will be a day of brightness and joy, where throngs of people the world over will celebrate as they are finally greeted by their savior. These people, who hold to that view, do not fully consider the dark state of the world we currently reside in, or the rampant evil those striving for righteousness suffer through.

Yah is sending his son to deliver a decisive blow to this earth and its wicked inhabitants. There will be darkness and sadness and terror and fear and deep anguish in that day. But Scripture itself paints the clearest picture.

14 That terrible day of Yah is near. Swiftly it comes—a day of bitter tears, a day when even strong men will cry out. 15 It will be a day when Yah’s anger is poured out—a day of terrible distress and anguish, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness, 16 a day of trumpet calls and battle cries. Down go the walled cities and the strongest battlements! 17 Because you have sinned against Yah, I will make you grope around like the blind. Your blood will be poured into the dust, and your bodies will lie rotting on the ground. 18 Your silver and gold will not save you on that day of Yah’s anger. For the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy. He will make a terrifying end of all the people on earth.
