There is neither praising Yah nor idle or abominable speech in the grave.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Whether we seek good in this life, or trend toward evil; whether we strive to do righteousness or give into wickedness, there is a similar end result for both paths, and that end is the grave, to which Ecclesiastes 9:2 will attest. There is neither praising Yah nor idle or abominable speech in that dark place, and once there, it is impossible to change your course. If you were on the path of destruction, you will be raised to judgment that is in line with that choice; if you have chosen the righteous way, a reward of life awaits, but these are decisions that are made in life, for nothing can be decided in the grave.

The notion that the dead go to heaven upon death is a misguided one, as Scripture does not teach this. In the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 12 verse 7, we are told that:

7 The dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to Elohim who gave it.

—Ecclesiastes 12:7

This is mainly referencing the creation of Adam, who was made from the dust of the earth and had the breath of Yah breathed into him. Upon death, both the dust and the breath of life return to their places of origin. That is all. So:

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in the grave, to which you are going.

—Ecclesiastes 9:10
