Shalom, and happy morning to you. Every day, people continue to make excuses as to why they are not able to fully submit to Yah and keep his commandments. Hebrews are perhaps highest on that list. Israelites far and wide fail little tests and trials that are meant to carry them to the next level of faith and obedience. When it comes to working on the Sabbath, a little pressure from a manager or employer, coupled with the cares of this life (not being able to pay the bills) causes them to stumble and break the fourth commandment.
As a people, we keep going backward, even though we are supposedly awake. This rebellious spirit and mindset are the very reason why Yah moved against us in the first place. We continue to be shocked and amazed at our horrible plight in this world, as though we are not getting everything we deserve for turning our backs on our beloved Father.
5 Who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem, or who will grieve for you? Who will turn aside to ask about your welfare? 6 You have rejected me, declares Yah; you keep going backward, so I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you—I am weary of relenting. 7 I have winnowed them with a winnowing fork in the gates of the land; I have bereaved them; I have destroyed my people; they did not turn from their ways.
