In response I wrote the following: Shalom, and glad to hear the materials are of benefit to you and your family. First, June 30 is marked as the beginning of a season, not a month, so it is a season day or one of four divisions of the year. All new season days land on a Shabbat and are followed by the first day of the new month for that season. All first days of a month following a new season land on a Sunday. This is true of Spring, which is why the beginning of the year is always a Sunday, and Fall as well, which is why Feast of Trumpets is always on a Sunday. As stated in the Hebrew Calendar documentary, "What I have found is that there are in fact 12 30-day months to a year, which gives the year 360 days, plus 4 separate days not tied to months that mark the beginning of four seasons, making it 364. . . ." Jubilees 6:23 states:
23 "In the first new month, and in the fourth new month, and in the seventh new month, and in the tenth new month are the days of remembrance,
and the days of the seasons in the four divisions of the year. These are written and ordained as a testimony forever."
Verse 30 states:
30 "All the days of the commandment will be
two and fifty weeks of days, and these will make the entire year complete. Thus it is engraved and ordained on the heavenly tablets."
Now 52 times 7 equals 364 days. But we are told that the month is only 30 days long in Deuteronomy 21:13, Deuteronomy 34:8, and Numbers 20:29, so the season days that are commanded in verse 23 of Jubilees 6 have to be separate to bump the year up to 364 days in a 52-week year. Otherwise 30 times 12 is 360. Verses 34 and 38 of Jubilees 6 even mentions new months and seasons as separate and distinct items:
34 "And all the children of Israel will forget and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the
new months, and
seasons, and sabbaths and they will wrongly determine all the order of the years."
RECKONING THE MONTHS BY THE NEW MOON The Book of Jubilees chapter 6 even breaks down the false observation of the moon, as with those tied to new moon observances. A lunar month is 29.5 days long. 29.5 times 12 makes the year 354 days, not 364 as stated in verse 36:
36 For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon and how it disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon.
37 For this reason the years will come upon them when they disturb (misinterpret) the order, and make an abominable day the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the pure with the unclean, and the unclean day with the pure; for they will go wrong as to the months and sabbaths and feasts and jubilees.
38 For this reason I command and testify to you that you may testify to them; for after your death your children will disturb them, so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty-four days only, and for this reason they will go wrong as to the new months and seasons and Sabbaths and festivals, and they will eat all kinds of blood with all kinds of flesh.
