Identifying the People of Israel Today

Since the tribes of Israel were declared lost, and the remnants of the nation of Israel were subsequently scattered to the four corners of the earth, many have come forward proclaiming that they are the true descendants of Israel. Christians claim they are spiritual Israel and true lineage doesn’t matter anymore; certain modern-day Anglo-Saxons hold to the false notion of British Israelism, a doctrine that claims the people of Western and Northern Europe directly descend from the Ten Lost Tribes of the ancient Israelites; and the descendants of the Khazarians currently have the world believing they are the true descendants of Jacob.

But truth be told, Scripture is clear on who the true descendants of Israel are today, and those people have to walk out certain prophecies and display traits that line up with the Word of Yah, particularly regarding the curses that were pronounced on them for breaking the covenant their forefathers agreed to at Mount Sinai. Among Hebrew Israelites, a false chart is going around that lumps whole nations into the lineage geographically, when Scripture never pinpoints the nations of this earth Hebrews would hail from; nations that didn’t even exist until a few hundred years ago following colonization by European empires. What Scripture does say is that Israel would be scattered to all nations, not just the limited lands that false chart points to.

Deuteronomy 28, which every Hebrew Israelite believer should be thoroughly familiar with by now, gives detailed specifics as to who Israel is, based on the aforementioned curses. Now, some people of other nations may seem to qualify as Israel based on a few of these curses, such as details about being cursed in the city and in the field, among other things. Many can look at certain Hamites in Africa, for instance, or poor people in Chinese and Indian villages and think they might qualify, but, to this day, only one people on earth fulfill each and every curse associated with the breaking of the covenant. I won’t go through each of the curses of Deuteronomy 28, just a few specific ones.

Sons and Daughters Given Unto Another People

Back to Contents

One curse that surely sticks out is found in verses 32 and 41 of Deuteronomy 28:

32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given unto another people, and your eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no strength in your hand.

41 You shall beget sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

Deuteronomy 28:32, 41

This is clearly a reference to the time of slavery experienced by so-called blacks throughout the world. And it paints a clear picture of the infamous auction blocks through which so-called negroes were sold. This is a major fulfillment of Scripture. And it compels me to ask, which other people on earth can lay claim to this? None but the so-called African American and negroes who were scattered throughout the world. Continuing, we read:

33 The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall a nation which you know not eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually:

34 So that you shall be driven mad by the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

Deuteronomy 28:33-34

So-called negroes were forced to work the fields, being familiar with all aspects of farming, and others ate up the fruits of their labor, literally, and grew rich from it. Cash crops were prized on large Colonial plantations, such as tobacco, rice, indigo, sugar, and later cotton. Slave masters drove so-called negroes hard, and they elicited work from the entire slave community, whether they were old or young, healthy or otherwise. And even children aged three and four had to weed fields, pick up trash, carry drinking water, or work in the kitchen. The youngest children fed chickens and livestock, or they were tasked with gathering chips of wood for fuel. Older kids, aged seven to twelve, both boys and girls, were forced to do field work. The work was never-ending in other words, and all slaves had to take part. This certainly fulfills Deuteronomy 28 verses 33 and 34.

You Shall be the Tail, and a Byword

Back to Contents

Another major curse that only one people could fulfill is found in verses 37, 43, and 44 of Deuteronomy 28.

37 And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations where Yah shall lead you.

43 The stranger that is among you shall rise up above you higher and higher; and you shall come down lower and lower.

44 He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

Deuteronomy 28:37, 43-44

In every nation of the world, what people are always classed at the very bottom of society? If you said so-called blacks or afro-whatever, you’re correct. The false 12 Tribes Chart claims that Puerto Ricans are the Tribe of Ephraim. They’re referring to light-skinned children of those of the Spanish Empire and Taíno and Carib peoples, not the real Hebrews in Puerto Rico referred to as Afro-Puerto Rican. But even though Puerto Rico would be considered among the least of the nations of the world, Puerto Ricans themselves, who in large part are not Hebrews, do discriminate against the true Hebrews living among them. A case in point is the following:

Censuses from the 1950s have not included ethnicity and it is difficult to quantify Afro-Puerto Ricans as a percentage of the population. Estimates range from 22 per cent to 65 per cent. Afro-Puerto Ricans were among the first non-indigenous people to arrive on the shores of Puerto Rico and can therefore look back to a more that 500-year presence, however, long enduring prejudices still affect their lives.

An understanding of how the Afro-Puerto Rican presence is perceived can be gathered from the treatment meted out to illegal Dominican migrants. Puerto Ricans tend to represent Dominicans as being darker-skinned than themselves, and emphasize their African influenced facial features and hair texture. In Puerto Rico Dominicans often experience the intense stigmatization, stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, and exclusion to which all people of African origin are subjected in that country.

The same site says, “A history of slavery (abolished in 1873) and plantation agriculture has left a significant population of African descent in Puerto Rico, sometimes referred to as gente de color (people of colour),” and I quote this mainly to prove that the Afro-Puerto Ricans being discriminated against are also descendants of slaves. So while Puerto Ricans are actually a people with a nation and their own personal borders (territory of the U.S. though it may be) they still claim their own land, but the descendants of the people taken there as slaves are in the same boat as so-called African Americans in this country. The truth is, if you have your own country, like the Mexicans do, like the Taiwanese do, like the Germans do, it is likely you are automatically not Israel. Granted, some countries are named after people who aren’t truly autonomous, like Nigeria, Jamaica, etc. These countries are an exception to the rule I’m proposing.

What’s more, the bottom level nations we’re talking about, even in Third World countries have their own banks and are able to lend money to others. Deuteronomy 28 clearly says that Israel, due to the curses, would not be able to lend to anyone. That is mainly so-called black people around the world who have no nation or national identity beyond the lands to which they were sent as captives.

Another case in point would be the Afro-Peruvians, some of whom, as it so happens, are stuck doing the very things their slave ancestors were forced to do 150 years before them. Watch the short clip below to see what I’m referring to:

And scattered Hebrews, such as the ones I’ve highlighted in this article, aren’t restricted to North and South America, they’re also in places like Iran. And again, we’re not talking the Indo-Iranian or Indo-Aryan people or even the Turkic groups in Iran that are merely gentiles. I’m referring to real Hebrews, like the ones mentioned below:

Like many other countries that border the Persian Gulf, Iran has communities of African origin living inside its border. While most Afro-Iranians are descendants of slaves brought to the country centuries ago, some Africans came to Iran in search of paid work as sailors. Afro-Iranians have their own distinct cultural and traditional practices, and mostly live in the Hormozgan province along the Persian Gulf, Sistan and Baluchestan along the Pakistan and Afghanistan borders, and Khuzestan province, abutting Iraq and the Gulf.

These Afro-Iranians are an important part of Iran’s rich tapestry of minority cultures and groups, but have largely been ignored both inside and outside the country.

These are clearly Hebrews. Why? Because they fit the curses perfectly. The curses are the only DNA test that truly count, or in the words of verse 46 of Deuteronomy 28, the curses “shall be upon” the children of Israel “for a sign and for a wonder, and upon” their “descendants forever.” In all the previous examples, the one common thread we’ve seen is that the people who qualify as Hebrews around the world are descendants of slaves, and this fulfills Deuteronomy 28 verses 48, 64, and 68 to the tee:

48 Therefore shall you serve your enemies which Yah shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon your neck, until he has destroyed you.

64 And Yah shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other. . . .

68 And Yah shall bring you into Egypt [or bondage] again in ships, by the way of which I spoke unto you, You shall see it no more again: and there you shall be sold unto your enemies as male and female slaves, and no man shall buy [or redeem] you.

Deuteronomy 28:48, 64, 68

Egypt refers to bondage, according to Exodus 13 verse 3 and other Scriptures, but not all Hebrews around the world are children of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. But they are all descendants of other tribes that experienced some form of slavery and captivity, such as scattered tribes that remain in Africa among the Hamites, like the so-called Ethiopian Jews, who continue to face discrimination in their country of exile. Many Hebrews in Africa also suffered during the East African Slave Trade which, thanks to the Arabs, exiled them as far east as China. But of the Ethiopian Jews, the majority of whom now live in Israel, IRIN News has this to say:

Growing up in Israel, Shay Sium became accustomed to being called a “nigger”.

Sium, 32, has lived in Israel most of his life, but says he and other Ethiopian Jews are treated differently from other Israelis: factories do not want to employ them; landlords refuse them; and certain schools turn away their children.

“The word discrimination doesn’t describe what we experience. There is another word for it: racism. It is a shame that we still have to use this word today,” he told IRIN.

An estimated 125,000 Ethiopian Jews live in Israel, but while they are supposed to be full citizens with equal rights, their community has continued to face widespread discrimination and socio-economic difficulties, according to its leaders.

So in conclusion, identifying the people of Israel comes down to spotting the curses of Deuteronomy 28 experienced by them. If everything lines up, you’re looking at the descendants of Israel, whom Yah will soon gather, as stated in Ezekiel 36:

24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Ezekiel 36:24
