What It Means to Be a Kingdom Prepper

There is little doubt as to the times we are living in. One can easily consider the daily events unfolding around us, be it with regard to the imminent societal collapse in countries around the world, economic upheavals, the rise in violence, wars, depravity and lawlessness, seemingly unrelenting so-called natural disasters, and so much more. With this in mind, it is recorded of Yeshua as follows:

54 And he said also to the people, “When you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately you say, ‘There comes a shower’; and so it is.

55 “And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be heat’; and it comes to pass.

56 “You hypocrites, you can discern the appearance of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that you do not discern this time?”

Luke 12: 54-56

Many can see that we are in the final days of this present age, which was prophesied many times in Scripture. Even atheists and unbelievers are somewhat aware of this fact, seeing many of them are preparing for a day of doom they believe will soon be upon us. There is currently a growing movement among worldly-minded individuals with a survivalist bent to store up provisions against a coming time of peril they believe will lead to famine, worldwide violence, and mass deaths. These people are referred to as Doomsday Preppers, since they are actively prepping, or preparing, for this “inevitable” day of doom.

This movement, as it so happens, is so effective in its sweep that many believers are being pulled into the ranks of those prepping for the supposed day of doom. Even those who call on the name of Yeshua, Hebrew Israelites no less, are storing up loads of food and water, and actively cultivating their survival skills so they can survive in the woods, mountains, and remote places when the time of anarchy and peril arrives.

What is not being said is that the time of trouble before us, which is very near, is not a time to prepare for in a temporal sense. No worldly preparation will spare those from the things that are coming upon this world. Yeshua gave ample warning of the dark times ahead, but there is nothing in the Word that instructs us to store up anything in a physical sense or train for wilderness survival in order to prepare for those times.

The barley first fruit remnant is who we hope to be in these last days. This is what we are prepping for. And this is why we are Kingdom Preppers!

Let's take a look at what is written for our benefit. In the account of Elijah the prophet, we are shown what his faith accomplished:

1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, “As Yah Elohim of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

2 And the word of Yah came unto him, saying, 3 “Get you from here, and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is east of the Jordan.

4 “And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

5 So he went and did according unto the word of Yah: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is east of the Jordan.

6 And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

8 And the word of Yah came unto him, saying, 9 “Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.”

1 Kings 17:1-9

And when seventy of his disciples returned from a recent mission, Yeshua said this to them:

19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Luke 10:19

The idea is that we are to place our trust completely and squarely in and on Yah. Nothing less will do. And of the 144,000 it is said:

2 And I saw another heavenly messenger ascending from the east, having the seal of the living Elohim: and he cried with a loud voice to the four messengers, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our Elohim on their foreheads.”

Revelation 7:2, 3

And following that sealing, no harm whatsoever can come to the remnant, which will fulfill the words of the Psalmist:

5 “You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day;

6 “Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 “A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.

8 “Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 “Because you have made Yah, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

11 “For he shall give his heavenly messengers charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”

Psalm 91:5-11

Being ready for the kingdom means having the faith and obedience that it takes to qualify for entrance there, as stated in Revelation 14:

12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Yeshua.”

Revelation 14:12

This speaks directly of the remnant who will be the first to receive the promises recorded in Scripture. They will be the first fruits from the great harvest to come.

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

4 . . . These are they who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto Elohim and to the Lamb.

Revelation 14:1, 4

The 144,000 are the first fruits, not only in the sense of being the first from the barley harvest, but the barley crop itself is the first to be harvested, even before the wheat believers that will form the bulk of the kingdom. The 144,000 are a special breed that matures well before the body of believers that will act as wheat. And it was barley that was presented as a wave sheaf during the Feast of Unleavened Bread as required by the law found in Leviticus 23.

The barley first fruit remnant is who we hope to be in these last days. This is what we are prepping for. And this is why we are Kingdom Preppers! Being a Kingdom Prepper means having several spiritual items in hand. You will notice that barley runs across the very top of our main logo on this webpage, and it is also seen in the top image that graces this article. This represents the remnant believers, those who will be ready to ascend when Yeshua returns.

The next thing the remnant must possess in these last days is the oil of Yah. That oil, which is used in anointing those who are to be used in his service, represents the Spirit of Yah. That is what happened to David:

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and of a beautiful countenance, and handsome. And Yah said, “Arise, anoint him: for this is he.”

13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of Yah came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

1 Samuel 16:12, 13

The same can be said of our Messiah, Yeshua. In fact, Messiah, which in the Hebrew tongue is Mashiach, means, “anointed.” This anointing occurred when he was immersed in water by his cousin John.

21 Now when all the people were immersed, it came to pass, that when Yeshua also was immersed, and praying, the heaven was opened,

22 And the Pure Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”

Luke 3:21, 22

And it is Yeshua, he who was anointed with the Spirit, who will anoint us with the same Spirit.

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to immerse with water, the same said unto me, “Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he who immerses with the Pure Spirit.”

34 And I saw, and bore record that this is the Son of Elohim.

John 1:33, 34

But in order to receive the anointing of the Spirit of Yah, there is one requirement, and it is found in the book of Acts:

32 “And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Pure Spirit, whom Elohim has given to them that obey him.”

Acts 5:32

One must obey Yah in order to receive his Spirit. This is the only way to be anointed by the true representation of the oil from Heaven. This is why oil, particularly olive oil, is also pictured above.

And finally the bread of life and water of life are also pictured, for these are also things the Kingdom Prepper must acquire. And they are both found in Yeshua himself.

35 And Yeshua said unto them, “I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst.”

John 6:35

14 “But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 4:14

This speaks to the faith of Yeshua the remnant will have, as mentioned in Revelation 14:12. But the verse also mentions the fact that they keep the commandments of Yah. That is the obedience required to obtain the anointing of the Spirit of Yah, as mentioned in Acts 5:32, which is the oil that will flow in them. So while it is true that there is a time of trouble ahead of us, the remnant will be saved out of it, for we have that promise.

1 “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”

Daniel 12:1

Having our names written in the book of life is of utmost importance, and this truth cannot be missed. When describing who will be able to enter New Jerusalem, Yeshua said:

27 “And there shall in no way enter into it anything that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

Revelation 21:27

And how can we have our names written in that book?

5 “He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white clothing; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his messengers.”

Revelation 3:5

16 Then they that feared Yah spoke often one to another: and Yah hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared Yah, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:16

13 The fear of Yah is to hate evil. . . .

Proverbs 8:13

9 O fear Yah, you his saints: for there is no lack to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek Yah shall not lack any good thing.

11 Come, you children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Yah.

12 What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of Yah are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of Yah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and Yah hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

18 Yah is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but Yah delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 34:9-19

So with that said, be a Kingdom Prepper, and obtain these spiritual items, that you may be a first fruit barley and follow the lamb wherever he goes.

This article is so good because there are Hebrew Israelites teaching that we need to get land and start growing and storing water for the time that is coming. I was starting to look for land. Thank you for this article. I never read in the Word that we need to do this. Be blessed. Shalom.
