Yah will set us apart and steer us on the right path if we yield to his authority over that of man.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. We have often spoken of the importance of humbling oneself and yielding to Yah, that he might lead and order your life. The sooner we realize and accept the fact that we are not to be our own masters, the sooner we will fall in line with the will and ways of Yah. Even if it seems our lives are meant to go in one direction, based on the corrupt influence and guidance of people with authority over us, Yah can still set us apart and steer us on the right path, but we must be willing to yield to Yah’s authority over that of man. One great example of this truth is found in an obscure verse in 1 Chronicles, which records the genealogy of the sons of Judah. There we read of an Israelite who set himself apart in his family and humbly sought Yah.

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him in pain. 10 Jabez called upon the Elohim of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain! And Elohim granted what he asked.
