Shalom, and happy morning to you. For the average person coming into truth, or those still outside of it, the Scriptures might seem like a daunting business, confusing beyond words. They peer into its many pages and are greeted with ancient prophecies and customs that appear dated and unrelated to life in the modern world. But for those who are filled with the Set Apart Spirit, who have been given spiritual sight and discernment concerning these very things, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The Scriptures happen to be the result of a miraculous work. Two people with different leanings and opposing hearts can read the same passages in the Word and glean very different things, one coming away with light and truth that adds to their understanding, the other with a gaping hole that holds no knowledge. Others who lack the proper heart to serve—a heart that is filled with unbelief—will misinterpret the Word of Yah, seeing things that aren’t even there. But even those of very little understanding, whom Scripture calls “the simple,” will be given discernment and have Yah’s words unfolded for them in a palatable manner, if they are willing to be faithful and obedient and have a deep appreciation for his law.

129 Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. 130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
