Shalom, and happy morning to you. There is no true rest for the wicked among our people. You’ll easily spot them. Their feet are not on the path that leads to life—the path that requires obedience—and they refuse to find it, or even walk it if they did. This is why they have no peace in their lives and can find no rest for their souls.

The lives of these individuals are full of turmoil, and trouble always seems to follow them. This is largely because they are lawless, refuse to heed Yah’s warnings, or keep his law. For them, disaster is promised, and it is their portion, day in, day out.

16 Thus says Yah: Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it. 17 I set watchmen over you, saying, Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet! But they said, We will not pay attention. 18 Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what will happen to them. 19 Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
