Shalom, and happy morning to you. As it goes, the things that Yah despise—things that rub him the wrong way—should also rub those who love him the wrong way. They should also hate what he hates. And by all accounts, everything Yah hates can be summed up in one word: evil. Simply put, Yah hates anything that is not in line with his character, his law. Whatever goes against his law goes against him, and those are the things we should hate.

That means we have to be familiar with his law to know what those things are, because in and of ourselves, and left to our own devices, we are far removed from his character and from being in line with his law. Therefore, without knowing his law through and through, we ourselves would be guilty of doing, saying, and thinking the things he hates, and we would do so without repentance, which would further estrange us from him. We would thus be void of his protection and would miss out on the deliverance he has promised to his set apart ones, those who truly love him.

10 O you who love Yah, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his set apart ones; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
