Shalom, and happy morning to you. We have all experienced loss at some point in our lives, but one of the most devastating (and common) loss is the death or absence of a father. The father is to be the priest of his home; a spirit-led individual who is dedicated to Yah and who leads his family and household by righteous example. But when the priestly father is absent from the household, chaos can ensue, and the way forward for the remaining household members can become unclear. The loss of a father through death leaves children fatherless, but it also turns a wife into a widow. Well, these are two sets of people among those striving for righteousness that Yah cares deeply for.

In addition to the fatherless and widows are those who lack a family altogether. For them, this is truly a lonely walk. But Yah cares for them also, and he eventually addresses their loneliness if they remain faithful. There is a passage in Scripture that speaks to all of these groups. For those who fall into these categories who are considered Yah’s, it is written:

5 A father to the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is Elohim in his pure habitation. 6 Elohim makes a home for the lonely; he leads out the prisoners into prosperity, only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
