Morning Morsels 084: The Center of Your Life

The wealthy and the powerful are nothing in the eyes of Yah, for theirs is only perceived wealth and power.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Many are those who are lowly in stature, not just in heart. We exist on the lowest rungs of the social and economic ladder. Meanwhile, those who are of nobler birth, or have achieved a higher station in life through education or some other means are highly respected and valued in the eyes of a corrupt society. These men and women are so praised and lauded that those who function at a lower level of achievement will rob, steal, or extort to reap the same benefits, and the pursuit of wealth becomes their main focus.

But the wealthy and the powerful are nothing in the eyes of Yah, for theirs is only perceived wealth and power. Yah alone holds and controls true wealth, and he is the source of real and lasting power.

9 Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air. 10 Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.
